The ShootFest concept
April 22nd, 2009 by TheBackpackr.com. Posted in About ShootFest |
A ShootFest is an unconference for photographers and videographers.
An unconference is a facilitated, participant-driven conference centered around a theme or purpose. The term “unconference” has been applied, or self-applied, to a wide range of gatherings that try to avoid one or more aspects of a conventional conference, such as high fees and sponsored presentations. The main objectives for ShootFests are to encourage networking, knowledge sharing, education and cameraderie (this has nothing to do with cameras, media people. It means a spirit of friendly good-fellowship). The first ever ShootFest will be held in June 2009, and the theme is “The Wedding”.
We need help to organise the event, and if you are able to offer ideas, time, resources, connections, etc… please do let us know. This website has been set up as a platform to facilitate the ease of communication via tools such as a blog engine, Twitter, Facebook…
